Brand New is one of the most influential emo rock bands to come out of the early 2000s. Their debut album Your Favorite Weapon earned them a niche, but pretty good following in the underground rock scene. By the time Brand New released their sophomore effort, Deja Entrendu, the band had made their commercial breakthrough and entered the mainstream charts. The album, which broke into the Billboard 200, sold a total of half a million copies, earning the band its first gold certification. In 2017, Brand New released their latest album, Science Fiction, which became their most successful effort to date. The album topped three Billboard charts, including the Billboard 200. Shortly after the band made their decision to go on hiatus and would reunite seven year later in 2024.
