The Cadence Bank Amphitheatre is welcoming music veterans to celebrate the very best of the PIXIES and MODEST MOUSE, alongside special guest CAT POWER. They’re coming to "Atlanta’s Oldest Outdoor Music Venue" on Tuesday 4th June 2024, and it’s all the craze!
PIXIES’ frontman Black Francis will be bringing you surreal lyrics, Joey Santiago is set to deliver aggressive guitar work and David Lovering is going to set the stage alight with his awesome drumming skills. Meanwhile, MODEST MOUSE will be bringing their alternative rock vibes and post-punk energy that they’re loved for worldwide. PIXIES are the prodigies of American alternative rock. This all-star band is known for their signature sound that is characterized by aggressive guitar work, surreal lyrics, and dynamic shifts in volume. Formed in the late ‘80s in Boston, the rock band consists of frontman Black Francis, lead guitarist Joey Santiago, and drummer David Lovering. The PIXIES latest setlist during their 2024 Bossanova x Trompe le Monde European Spring Tour included belters like The Surftones cover “Cecilia Ann,” the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart-topper "Velouria," as well as the dreamy and atmospheric “Motorway To Roswell.”
Meanwhile MODEST MOUSE is an indie rock powerhouse that burst onto the scene in the '90s and continues to captivate audiences today with their unique blend of alternative rock vibes and post-punk energy. Led by the charming frontman Isaac Brock, their music is a dynamic blend of raw guitar riffs, experimental melodies, and introspective lyrics that speak to every generation. During their latest gig at The Momentary in Arkansas, MODEST MOUSE gave audiences yet another unreal performance playing bangers like the energetic “Doin' the Cockroach,” “Dashboard” from their 2007 celebrated album ‘We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank,’ as well as the poetic and introspective “3rd Planet”.
But that’s not all this, these HUGE names in indie rock will be joined by Special Guest CAT POWER. The mastermind behind CAT POWER is Chan Marshall. This pioneer pens emotionally raw tunes and delivers them with a potent mix of strength and vulnerability. Her earliest albums like 1996's ‘What Would the Community Think,’ reflects on the influence of New York's experimental rock scene. And her latest eleventh studio LP is a brilliant new live album featuring impressive Bob Dylan covers. This March she played at the renowned Royal Albert Hall and wowed audiences with iconic covers like “She Belongs to Me,” “4th Time Around,” and “Visions of Johanna.”
