The band, whose a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee, is currently promoting their Raw Whisky tour, consisting of thirty cities across North America. ZZ Top has been around since 1969. The band members are well into their 70s. However, these rockers are not stopping anytime soon. They have been relentlessly touring and rocking out the stages in major cities all over the country for over 50 years. The band released their first album in 1971, titled ZZ Top’s First Album. The record featured ZZ Top’s attitude and humor-themed blues rock mixed with southern and boogie influences. After their debut, the band released fourteen more studio albums, the last being La Future, released in 2012.
ZZ Top’s impressive five-decade career has earned them numerous accolades, including multiple MTV Video Music Awards. Moreover, the band has sold more than 50 million records, making them one of the best-selling bands of all time. In 2004, the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. According to Rock Hall, “ZZ Top charmed millions with their party anthems and brash music videos. Their mammoth tour solidified a nationwide fanbase and featured everything from Texas-shaped stages to live rattlesnakes."
This 2022, ZZ Top is promoting their latest live album titled Raw. The album is one of their last ones to record with their longtime bassist, the late Dusty Hill. Raw features tracks from the songs used in the band’s Netflix documentary, That Little Ol’ Band from Texas, set to air this July 2022. ZZ Top’s current lineup comprises frontman Billy Gibbons, drummer Frank Beard, and bassist Elwood Francis for their summer tour.
