Another highlight includes Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement awardee Pete Escovedo who will showcase his out-of-this-world percussion skills! Lastly, R&B and soul singer Jarrod Lawson completes the line-up and will showcase his captivating voice, heavily inspired by his idol, Stevie Wonder! The Sunset Jazz Festival has been an ongoing music festival for over 30 years. The event was launched to showcase local artists from surrounding areas and beyond. The festivals, usually held in outdoor settings, have entertained music lovers across North America, specifically Kansas City, New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Baton Rouge, Raleigh, and more. Every year, the line-up comprises incredibly diverse performers, with genres ranging from blues, rock, pop, R&B, and soul. This 2023, the Sunset Jazz Festival comes to Atlanta, Georgia, to feature great talents. In past line-ups, the Sunset Jazz Festival has featured incredibly talented artists, such as Robyn Springer, Charlotte Jazz Orchestra, Kenneth Carr and the Tigers, and more. The genres are often plentiful, with 2014’s line-up even bringing in the Cuban sensational Los Trabucos. This 2023, the show features a power-packed line-up comprising esteemed musicians.
The show at the Cadence Bank Amphitheatre will feature headliner Robert Andre Glasper. The award-winning keyboardist, songwriter, and record producer will perform his career-spanning hits, including songs from his breakout and Grammy Award-winning album, Black Radio. Aside from his debut work, Glasper is guaranteed to deliver iconic staples from his subsequent releases Black Radio 2, Covered, Everything’s Beautiful, Art Science, and Fuck Yo Feelings. A Robert Glasper set will not be complete without him performing his early works from Mood, Canvas, In My Element, and Double-Naked.
Sharing the stage on Saturday, 5th August, will be saxophonist extraordinaire David Sanborn. The six-time Grammy Award-winning soloist known for mixing traditional jazz, R&B, and pop is regarded as one of North America's most commercially successful saxophonists. Fans can look forward to Sanborn’s wide range of sounds, from smooth jazz to funky staples and even some blues rock.
Latin-American musician Pete Escovera will demonstrate his outstanding percussion skills. The esteemed performer was recently awarded the Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and has tenure performing with Carlos Santana. He also founded the Escovedo Bros Latin Jazz Sextet and led the big Latin band. Azteca. Lastly, the smokey-voiced Jarrod Lawson will be captivating audiences with iconic staples, “Footsteps in the Dark,” “I’ll Be Your Radio,” “Music and Its Magical Way,” and many more.
